A 47-year-old man has suffered horrific injuries after he was stabbed in the eye during an argument over a parking space at a shopping centre. The shocking incident took place in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz, after the victim and another driver began fighting over a parking space.
This is a scan taken at the hospital shows how the knife passed through the left eye and through into the lower half of the right orbit (see the X-ray image that shows the knife embedded in the man’s eye).
Miraculously, doctors successfully removed the knife which had pierced the left eyeball and the lower part of the right eye.
Although the patient lost his left eye in the incident he was in a stable condition the whole time.
