Not Being Able to Get Enough Sleep? Try URGOnight!

Sleep directly affects the mental and physical wellbeing of a person. 1 in 5 people have issues maintaining sleep and falling asleep, while 1 in 3 people complain of not getting enough sleep. Lack of adequate sleep can alter the state of mind, lead to fatigue, stress, and impaired functionality.

Sleep hygiene and sleep training are topics that are less talked about. URGOnight helps train the brain during the day for better sleep at night.

URGOnight is the world’s first daytime Sleep Training Program. It is a wearable Electroencephalogram (EEG) headband connected to a smartphone app. URGOnight utilizes neurofeedback therapy to increase the brainwaves that impact sleep. Although the technology it uses is not new, as the underlying technology has been used in sleep clinics for many years, but URGOnight is the first wearable device of its kind, which actively trains the brain during the day, enabling users to fall asleep 40% faster. It not only reduces the sleep onset latency but also reduces the nighttime wakening frequency to nearly half enabling the user to get a smooth sleep without tossing and turning in the bed.

How does it work?

The adjustable URGOnight EEG headband has four dry electrodes; two electrodes are in contact with the top of the head and the other two behind the ears. With these electrodes, URGOnight records the sensorimotor (SMR) brainwaves in real-time and utilizes that data to produce a neurofeedback loop to generate stronger SMP brainwaves. An increase in these waves during the day correlates with better sleep at night.

No, there is no emission of sound.

The user has to wear the headset during the day just for 20 minutes each time, and the best thing is that each training session is custom-tailored for the user based on the previous habits. The user doesn’t have to wear the headband during the night; hence, no discomfort. Even for wearing during the day, the headband is fully adjustable and comes with a carrying case for the user’s ease.

Users may need to go through a process for persistence and consistency to get a hold of how efficient URGOnight can be. With practice, the wearer’s training polishes, enabling the user to identify which mental strategies work best and how to reproduce these brainwaves on-demand to strengthen the neural network needed for sleep.

Having said that, URGOnight is not a cure for sleep disorders; the neurofeedback technology may be able to complement the therapies but cannot replace the advice of healthcare professionals.
