In4Med is a medical and scientific congress of Nucleo de Estudantes de Medicina da Associação Académica de Coimbra. This congress is organized by students for students.
When & Where?
The 13th edition of In4Med will take place on April 4–7, 2024, in Convento São Francisco, Coimbra. English remains the medium of delivery of this in-person congress.
Theme of In4Med
The motto of the 13th edition of In4Med is “Exploring the present, foreseeing the future”. The congress is focused on showing how every second can count in our lives. It also emphasizes the importance of caring for different generations. In 2023, In4Med focused on Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics, Sexuality and Reproductive Medicine, and Senses Surgery. However, this year the three panels are Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine, Personalized Medicine and Innovative Therapeutics and General and Family Medicine. Moreover, there is a debate focused on Post-Mortem Insemination and 4 different keynotes.
Competitions & Gala Dinner
Furthermore, congress has three main competitions: Scrub Up, about medical and emergency simulation; Post N’Speak, in which the participants have the chance to present research projects to a qualified jury, and, finally, “Doctor, Crack my Case!”, a competition based on clinical cases of different areas and where the participants are asked to answer some questions as fast as they can. For participants, the congress provides a souvenir that includes a tote bag carrying material provided by reputable educational and media partners. Also, the 13th In4Med includes a social program with a Gala Dinner and Opening Ceremony, on the 4th and a Sunset, on the 5th of April.
The student-run organization organizes this congress to go further and bring more knowledge, even in subjects that aren’t tackled enough. With the lectures, the participants can enter into a new world of discoveries and investigations that otherwise they don’t know. Every year, the congress innovates with something different, and this year will be no exception! In4Med will bring the newest discoveries and a set of amazing speakers and lectures that will leave the participants amazed. All this mixed with fun, competitive spirit, and lots of joy.
