A woman ended up in the hospital when a dog pooped in her mouth. Amanda Gommo was taking a nap with her mouth wide open when her daughter’s chihuahua named Belle pooped in her mouth. Moreover, Belle was suffering from gastrointestinal problems when the incident happened.
Amanda Gommo told the press,
I was having my afternoon nap with Belle like I always do when I suddenly felt something squirt in my mouth,
I rushed to the bathroom and my son was in the shower, so before I washed it out I had time to take a quick snap.
She further said that it was unpleasantly disgusting and she was hurling for hours after the incident.
It was disgusting, and I was hurling violently for hours after,
I just couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth.
The experience was of course very discomforting, and nobody wish to be woken up with dog poop in their mouth. However, this was just the beginning of Amanda’s prolonged uncomfortable experience.
Gommo vomited and suffered from diarrhoea for a few hours. So, the family eventually called an ambulance for her. Furthermore, the paramedics asked her to drink plenty of fluids of “haven’t been to a dog variety”. However, her painful body cramps continued and kept getting worse.
She was eventually sent to the hospital where the doctors kept her on IV fluids and medication for three days while she dealt with the infection. Furthermore, she was severely dehydrated because of the vomiting and diarrhoea.
Other than the severe symptoms, it was very easy to identify the culprit behind her sickness. When a dog with diarrhoea poops in your mouth, it is not really a medical conundrum.
Amanda Gommo further said,
My discharge note said that I’d suffered a gastrointestinal infection caused by a dog defecating in my mouth,
Something doctors had never witnessed before.
